The National Shooting Sports Foundation recently completed an analysis of the latest FBI background check numbers and found August continuing the trend of second-highest numbers on record. As Americans worry more about rising crime and a general unease regarding the toxic political climate, gun sales continue to climb.

According to the NSSF, while background checks slid by 21.3%, they still remain only slightly behind the same period for 2020 and are already on par to smash the 2019 numbers.

Bottom line: Americans are still buying guns at a frantic, record pace.
