MO. Governor Mike Parson joins a growing list of Governors across the nation signing legislation declaring their states to be Second Amendment sanctuaries. The 2A sanctuary movement is designed to safeguard the state and counties from federal gun control legislation.
“Missouri is not attempting to nullify federal law. Instead, Missouri is defending its people from federal government overreach by prohibiting state and local law enforcement agencies from being used by the federal government to infringe Missourians’ right to keep and bear arms,” wrote Mr. Parson and Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt in response to the DOJ.
With Parson’s signature, Missouri joins the growing list of counties and states to defy federal gun control threats. According to sanctuarycounties.com, over 61% of the nation has declared itself a 2A sanctuary by either proclamation or signed state legislation.
