Philadelphia homicide numbers are rising fast. As of press time, according to the Philadelphia Office of the Controller, the city has seen:

  • 305 homicides to date. (33% increase over 2020)
  • 1012 wounded by gunfire
  • 262 fatalities

The Office of Controller also reports the demographics:

  • 1128 male victims
  • 146 female victims
  • 77 White (6%)
  • 1090 Black (86%)
  • 107 Hispanic (8%)

Victims range in age:

  • 01-18 123 (10%)
  • 18-30 680 (53%)
  • 31-45 328 (26%)
  • Over 45 119 (9%)
  • Unknown 24 (2%)

Philadelphia has been run by Democrats since 1952
